DAVID MOREHOUSE, Ph.D., FILM CONSULTING WORK
The Norwegian Film Institute, Oslo, Norway (2002, 2004) Under the Norwegian Ministry of Culture’s 2001 Film Reform, David was twice invited to lecture and teach on Creativity and the Human Mind, Thought Incubation, and Remote Viewing as tools for innovation and creativity applicable to the world of film.
In 1996, Dr. Morehouse worked on multiple feature film projects with writers like Kevin Alyn Elders, the writer and director of Iron Eagle I (1986) and Iron Eagle II (1988), Jane Doe (2001), and Echelon Conspiracy (2009). David helped Kevin develop the story-to-film concept for his autobiography “Psychic Warrior: Inside the CIA’s Star Gate Program.” This effort involved close work in the story and screenplay development to adopt Morehouse’s book for Sylvester Stallone.
In 1998, Dr. Morehouse consulted with and advised director Wes Craven A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) and Scream (1996), on the story adaptation of his Remote Viewing experiences as an operational Remote Viewer working for the CIA and the Defense Intelligence Agency’s Directorate of Science & Technology. Mr. Craven was interested in David’s “Ether Wars” screen treatment, which described a complex war between Soviet psychics and the U.S. Intelligence Community. In Morehouse’s story, U.S. military Special Operations Soldiers trained as Remote Viewers were sent into the ether to seek, disrupt, or destroy the Soviet psychics’ who worked to influence or kill the President of the United States from the darkness of the mind.
Two production companies hired David Morehouse to write and pitch a screen treatment for War Games II to Universal Pictures in the late 1990s. While the project was deemed too expensive by Universal, Morehouse became known as an excellent story developer who provided cutting-edge scientific detail combined with the political, intelligence community, and military realism, and he could pitch the story better than anyone else in the room. His manager, Peter Donaldson of Envoy Entertainment, claimed he was “The best story pitch in Hollywood.”
David worked one-on-one with director Oliver Stone on multiple occasions in support of the Hollywood Red Cell after the 911 attacks. David discussed the intelligence community’s capabilities, futuristic military and scientific technologies, and their potential applications in actual and future Global War On Terror (GWOT) scenarios with Mr. Stone.
His first novel, “The Deceivers,” was written and sold to Paramount Pictures in 1998, with Mace Neufeld producing and Simon West directing. He worked daily with screenwriter Kevin Droney, known for “Down Came a Blackbird” (1995) and “Highlander” (1992) Mortal Combat: The Journey Begins (1995). For months David worked with Mr. Droney to adapt the novel to film, draft the screenplay and pitch the story to producers and studios across Hollywood.
